An integrated data resource for C. elegans and related nematodes

RNAi :

WormBase ID  WBRNAi00118015 Phenotype Remark  In worms, fmo-2 expression is induced after 24 hours of exposure to the smell of Enterococcus faecalis (EF). Authors utilize an experimental setup where worms are exposed to live Enterococcus faecalis (EF) on the lid of an agar plate but are unable to consume the pathogen (referred to as EF Smell). RNAi of nhr-49 completely blunts the induction of fmo-2 by 24 hours of exposure to EF Smell.
Remark  Authors state genes used in knockdown were obtained from Vidal and Ahringer C. elegans RNAi libraries, this is curated with the Vidal clone.

Identifier Name Description
WBPhenotype:0001857 pathogen induced gene expression variant Gene expression of an animal is not influenced by the exposure to disease causing agents in the same manner as control animals.
WBPhenotype:0001012 organism pathogen response variant Animals exhibit variations in their response to disease causing agents, compared to control. Pathogen response includes prevention, damage control and recovery from the infection caused by the attack.
WBPhenotype:0000652 sensory system variant Variations in the progression of a set of interacting or interdependent entities forming the sensory system over time from an initial condition to a later condition compared to control animals. The sensory system is involved in the perception of a stimuli, its conversion into a signal and the recognition and characterization of the resulting signal.
