WormBase ID  WBRNAi00118021 Phenotype Remark  Authors show that transcriptional repression during spermatogenesis in C. elegans occurs and that RNAi of top-2 inhibits this repression. Authors monitored levels of RNAPII (through pSer2) and saw low levels of pSer2-positive nuclei in the compaction zones of gonads from control males. RNAi of top-2 increased number of pSer2-positive nuclei. Thus they conclude that transcriptional repression during spermatogenesis in C. elegans requires top-2.
