Expression Pattern :

Pattern  C. elegans engaged in early and middle phases of embryogenesis stain intensely for SIP-1 mRNA. SIP-1 mRNA content declines precipitously to background levels as the embryos undergo morphogenesis (elongation and folding) to generate L1 larvae. Immunofluorescence microscopy demonstrated that SIP-1 protein is abundant and widely distributed in ellipsoid embryos that have not yet entered the postproliferative, morphogenesis stage. Animals at later stages of embryogenesis have markedly lower or undetectable amounts of SIP-1 protein. In adult nematodes SIP-1 mRNA is highly expressed in the gonadal arms (developing oocytes). The transcript is not detected in any other cells of adult C. elegans. Primary Identifier  Expr1608
Remark  sip-1 is called sec-1 in this paper.
