Expression Pattern :

Pattern  [myo-3::unc-119(cDNA)-gfp]: Direct observation of GFP fluorescence resulting from these constructs showed that the cDNA construct was strongly expressed exclusively in body wall and head muscles. No neural expression was detected and coelomocytes could not be seen behind the very bright muscle expression. myo-3::unc-119(genomicDNA)-gfp: The unc-119 gDNA constructs in combination with the myo-3 promoter resulted in expression in only a few unidentified neurons at a very low level that was insufficient to rescue movement and dauer defects. Remark  This led to two separate conclusions. First, expressing the UNC-119 protein only in body wall and head muscles is sufficient to partially rescue gross phenotypic defects such as movement and dauer formation. Second, the precise expression of UNC-119 is controlled by a combination of promoter and enhancer elements in a manner that is not strictly additive, but is a synthesis of signals from various regulatory elements.
