An integrated data resource for C. elegans and related nematodes

Expression Pattern :

Pattern  In early embryos, immune serum stained granules broadly distributed throughout the embryo. In latter embryonic stages, staining became restricted to intestinal cells. Intestine-specific labeling was first observed at the lima bean stage embryos, when the gut precursors are located along the dorsal posterior quadrant and autofluorescent intestinal granules first appear. Intestinal granules are labeled in all subsequent stages of C. elegans development. The staining becomes more intense and the granules become more abundant as the animals grow. No staining of gut granules was observed with preimmune serum. Primary Identifier  Expr945
Subcellular Localization  At all stages labeling occurs at the periphery of the granules, as would be expected for labeling of a membrane protein.

Definition Name Synonym Primary Identifier
any of 20 large epithelial cells which form a tube and are mostly situated as bilaterally symmetric pairs around the tubular lumen. Each of these cell pairs forms an intestinal ring ( II-IX int rings). The most anterior intestinal ring (int ring I), however, is made of four cells. Intestinal cells contain large nuclei with large nucleoli and numerous autofluorescent granules in their cytoplasm. intestinal cell   WBbt:0005792
